Q&A
Have your adults and pups had there medical genetic disposition testing done?
Yes. I not only have testing done directly after birth of my pups but also have testing done before and after purchase of a new canine. I match up mates based on there medical results to ensure the best possible health outcome of all puppies.
Do you offer a parasite free pick up policy?
It is mandatory all puppies begin internal parasite treatment and prevention as soon as they are threw weaning from mom. They are treated with pomate and fenbazole, for 4 different types of parasites, every 2 weeks all the way up till they are placed in new homes. .
This may seem a bit excessive if there's no cause for concern but I put all dogs straight to a raw meat diet from weaning from mom. Parasite prevention is key for such a diet.
Treatment and prevention of external parasites are done with topical flea dips as well as all natural approaches such as essential oils and Diatamatious Earth. These are maintained weekly.
What vaccines do you take care of under your care before re-homing your puppies and do you supply proof of vaccination?
Puppies will be up to date on all required vaccines at time of pickup. Usually this means they would have had there first 2 rounds of Adrenavirus, Distemper, Parvo, Hepatitis and leptospirosis and para-influenza.
Puppies will also be microchipped awaiting new owners enrollment upon pickup.
Do you have a grooming schedule in place within your. Program?
Absolutely!!
Within 20 min of birth they get cleaned up and examined. They are then weighed daily for the first week , weekly for the next 3 weeks and finally biweekly until pickup where they get 1 more extra weight check before leaving.
There grooming routines begin at 2 weeks old , usually, as long as there's no extenuating circumstances. They receive teeth cleaning , dry baths and physical exams every 3 days. With ear cleaning, nail trimming and brush downs weekly.
I usually take advantage of this 1 on 1 time to perform there exams and have a little play time with them. Socialization is very important at there age.
What sort of education have you received to aid in your breeding methods?
I thought you would never ask! As of now I am in my 4th year of canine college. Studying Canine Reproduction and Anatomy as well as Canine DNA and Genetics. I have already completed courses and received my certifications in canine Whelping and medical intervention, AKC breeding Basics, Practical Canine Anatomy and Movement, I am pet CPR and emergency certified and I am currently studying as a para-vet. ( Vet tech understudy). I am certified and trained to administer vaccines, perform basic puppy and adult canine medical exams, perform fecal exams and much much more. However I do not , and cannot write prescriptions, diagnose or performed surgery. Also I want to be clear I am in no way a replacement or substitute for anyone's regular vet. I can merely assist with my litters and I try to help out with some locals with affordable routine vet care.
How often are your dogs tested for parasites?
I perform weekly fecal exams on all the puppies and monthly exams on the adults. I do all my own testing on site and if I find any reason for concern we have an online vet we can see 24 hours a day who then prescribed medication accordingly if necessary
